Priya Sheth, OD
Dr. Priya Sheth graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in business administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2014 and subsequently completed her residency specializing in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center in conjunction with the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University.
While in school Dr. Sheth was selected to be a member of the Gold Key Honor Society for students who excel in leadership and service to their community. In addition, she was presented with the Dr. Stanley Dickerson endowed leadership award. Through a student-run volunteer organization, Dr. Sheth traveled to Honduras to help perform comprehensive eye exams and distribute glasses to an underserved population.
Prior to relocating to Charlotte, Dr. Sheth worked at the Greenville VA Health Care Center where she cared for our veterans from eastern North Carolina. Since 2016, Dr. Sheth has served as a board member of the Jiti Foundation, which is a non-profit organization aiming to promote both women’s empowerment and combating preventable blindness in developing countries.
Dr. Sheth is originally from New York but moved to North Carolina at a young age. During her time off, you can bet she is jetting off and exploring some new area as she is quite the avid traveler. Dr. Sheth also enjoys reading, cooking, and watching sports: specifically college basketball – go heels!
